November Favourites

November- what a month. Between October and November I had three weddings to attend, and went back to Singapore for a week to attend an uncle's wedding, and it was such a whirlwind of a trip. I wish it had been longer but all the same, I'm thankful for being able to go. I've got some skincare, hair and makeup favourites to share, as well as some random additions that I've been loving.

Manuka Honey
I was going through a patch of some really troubled skin and after breaking out from a clay mask I decided to try using manuka honey as a face mask instead, because it can do no wrong. Its antibacterial properties actually helped a lot in soothing angry breakouts and clogged pores, and since it's all natural and not too acidic I didn't have to worry about any adverse reaction to it. This one is just from Aldi but any are fine. The higher the + the more powerful it is.

The Face Shop Jeju Aloe Fresh Soothing Gel
I picked this up to use as a body lotion on the summer months because it's so lightweight and absorbs right into the skin very quickly while still moisturising. I've loved using this product - it even helped me out when I ran out of HadaLabo Super Hyaluronic Acid Lotion and did not have any backups - I used this instead and it staved off the dry, tight feeling of my skin.

DHC Cleansing Oil
I featured this in a previous Favourites post but I loved the 80mL travel size so much I had to buy the big kahuna, and even found it on Sasa online when it was having a half price promotion! I love it so much - I've never liked a makeup remover as much as this. It breaks up makeup and washes off without leaving a residue or leaving the skin feeling tight.

Fresh Sugar Lip Balm
This was a 'feeling spendy' splurge bought from Sephora when I was in Singapore - I was adjusting to the heat/air-conditioning environment and my lips were so chapped that I thought 'sod it, I'll just get the real thing'. I love this lip balm! I wear lip balms almost everyday so for me, to have such a luxurious balm is just like the feeling of buying a nice lipstick. It doesn't smell sugary like spun sugar, but rather a little bit like lollies and lemon. Disappointed we can't get Fresh in Sephora in Australia but it is a seriously luxe brand that I would love to try more of!

Pop Sockets
XiaoMi A1 phone
I am super late to the Pop Socket party but my cousin had one and I finally decided to order some, and was kindly given one by my uncle in Singapore as well. I love how easy to use they are, they make gripping the phone a lot more convenient and function as a stand to watch Youtube videos, and they pop down, which is something I thought was interesting and new because I've seen the kind that do not pop down.

I have the black marble design on my old phone (Motorola Moto G3) and the rose gold diamond design on my new phone, which is also a favourite! I just got a new phone because the limited internal storage capacity of the Motorola could no longer handle app updates. I love the new phone, I think the XiaoMi hardware is great and the Android interface makes the transition to a new device seamless. It's super pretty and I'm loving Portrait Mode on the camera.

Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum foundation in 52 Vanille
It Cosmetics Your Skin But Better CC Cream in Light
Zoeva Silk Finish Brush
My favourite face base products, possibly of the whole year - I had forgotten how great Healthy Mix Serum was! Easy to blend, medium coverage that looks super natural and basically weightless on the skin. It's a good shade match now too - I used to mix 52 and 53 when I used this foundation some years ago now. The It Cosmetics CC Cream is just so easy to wear and I loved using it on my short trip to Singapore at the beginning of the month because of the lightweight feeling and the medium-full coverage.
The Zoeva brush was a purchase from Sephora in Singapore because I've wanted to try it since I discovered Zoeva. Since I couldn't justify buying the rose gold brush set and only bought the angled cheek brush, I decided the Silk Finish Brush was a worthy inclusion of my brush collection because I have 2 EcoTools buffing brushes and even on rotation I fall behind in washing them, so really, I needed this. I like how the bristles are not too densely packed, and how soft it is. The rounded cut edge sets it apart from the buffing brushes I have and it does leave a nice finish in applying the base.

Ouai Hair Oil
Another Sephora purchase from Singapore but honestly so worth it - I had my hair cut and coloured in Singapore and I was (again) reminded of the importance of using good products and keeping it soft and nourished and this hair oil is just the thing. It smells great, it's not too greasy and it really gives results. My hair is softer and smoother after using it regularly and I know it's pricey, but this is such a good product!

Oral-B Braun Pro 3000
I've been using this toothbrush for most of this year and I can't believe I haven't included it in a Favourites post before! It gives 'that dentist-clean feeling' and I can't go back to using manual toothbrushes everyday. Charging it is a hassle, I'll admit, but for the hygiene and the reassurance that I will actually brush for 2 minutes because it indicates when the time is up, I believe the electric toothbrush is completely worth it!

The Wet Brush
I have, and love the regular Wet Brush that I bought in January, and when I saw this larger version at T.K.Maxx I had to get another - and I got one for my sister too. They detangle, they help the hair dry in shape and I love how low-maintenance my hair routine has been since I've been using the Wet Brush.

Crayola Ultra Washable Broad Tip Markers
Artline Stix Brush Markers
I love these markers for practising lettering! They're just the best affordable markers - a set is easily under $10 and they can yield such nice results- whether it's for a card, doodling, or just practice, they are an easily accessible and affordable way to start lettering! They're way more convenient than getting a nib and holder and ink out, that's for sure.
